St. Paul's School: Homecoming Week full of spirit

Tuesday was Pink Day, which allowed students to wear pink clothing in support of breast cancer awareness. In addition, during the morning’s Pack Time gatherings, students learned about and discussed issues pertaining to the menacing disease.

On Wednesday, students were encouraged to wear any types of crazy accessories they had, ranging from hats and ties to socks and belts. To brace for the cold that arrived on Thursday, students were allowed to wear any ugly sweater they owned. The fun culminated on Friday, which was an all-out Blue and Gold Day to help excite everyone for the homecoming game later that night.

On Friday afternoon, to add even more excitement to the day, the Student Council staged a pep rally in the Gene Bennett Sports Complex. The St. Paul’s Marching Wolves performed, and were followed by the cheerleaders and the Golden Blues dance team. The 2011 homecoming court was recognized before the student body, but the senior maid who would become queen remained a secret until the game that night. Like other recent celebratory events at St. Paul’s, the afternoon ended with shots of confetti cannons ringing throughout the gym and the Marching Wolves playing the fight song as they processed out of the gym.
