Just inside of Cedar Grove Cemetery, as the sun was setting Thursday evening, ghosts began appearing beside tombstones — famous New Bernians and notorious moonshiners.
Hundreds of people took a tour through the historic graveyard as they were entertained by local history and acting buffs dressed in period clothes for the annual Halloween tradition Ghostwalk.
This year’s theme is “The Good, The Bad, The Ugly!”
There are also events taking place at the Athens and Masonic theaters through Saturday. All ghost sites, the cemetery and theaters are open from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
