Writer's Block: Newsroom tour to get to know us
By Sue Austreng
Readers who scan ABC Newspapers – in print or online – become acquainted with their reporters and photographers by reading the articles we write and examining the photos we shoot.
We listen to you and talk with you, we hear your stories, we record your insights and document your perspective. We get to know you and we share with you the news and events that are important to you, that make Anoka County’s cities and townships your hometown. These are our hometowns, too. We live, work and play here just like you do and we enjoy sort of an extended family relationship with you.
To enhance that relationship, I’d like to give you a peek inside our newsroom, humming with voices conducting telephone interviews and accented with the staccato sound of keyboards snapping out stories and articles.
With a description of random items found on desks, hanging on cubicle walls, stacked on shelves, or stashed on the floor beneath, this Writers Block will lead you on a scavenger hunt of sorts. Here we go. The hunt is on. Which of your ABC Newspapers staff do you think occupies each of the spaces described (in no particular order) here?
